Chamblee Racquet & Paddle Plantar Fasciitis - Prevention & Pain Relief

Our facility is not open yet but this is one of the health and wellness classes we plan to offer.

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. It is caused by inflammation and or small tears of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes.

Tennis and Pickleball players are at high risk for this condition because of the nature of our sports. As we get older the plantar fascia can get more stiff and brittle. While this class is not for diagnosis or medical treatment of any medical condition, we will discuss and work on:

  • The relationship of the plantar fascia to the calf, hamstring and quad
  • Fascia and it's role in the body
  • The benefit of adding a wide variety of stretches to the traditional PT exercises for plantar fasciitis and other foot and leg pain
  • Taking you through a variety of yoga stretches that help alleviate pain and stiffness in the foot, leg and hips
  • Prevention

+ Your certified yoga teacher is not a medical doctor. For diagnosis of plantar fasciitis or any other injury or illness, please contact your doctor/ chiropractor.

++ Conditions that can have similar symptoms to plantar fasciitis include heel spurs, tarsal tunnel syndrome, Achilles tendinitis, stress fractures, and bursitis.
